A Checklist for Your Baby’s First Year

If you are expecting a baby, you have to make sure that everything is in order before they arrive in this world. That being said, you should be stocking up on baby clothes , diapers, baby bottles, and a whole lot of others so that everything will be smooth-sailing right from the get-go.
This article serves as a brief checklist of all of your baby’s essentials. Be sure to refer to this guide whenever you need some tips.

Baby Clothes

Here is one thing that you should keep in mind when you are having a baby: they grow so fast. This means that they can outgrow the baby clothes that you’ve bought for them sooner rather than later. In fact, I have a couple of friends whose baby clothes do not fit their newborns because they are already big right from the get-go.
That being said, although there are certain clothes that are ‘appropriate’ for certain ages; this shouldn’t be treated as fact. It only serves as a guide to help you choose the right clothes that could fit your newborn.
Anyway, as a good rule of thumb, always buy clothes that are a size higher than the current age of your baby. For instance, if you have a newborn, you may want to buy clothes that are appropriate for babies 3 months old and above.

Diapers

Another essential baby item that you should definitely prepare beforehand is the diaper. Most people opt for disposable diapers because they are quite convenient, but they can also be costly as well, especially if you factor in all of the costs over time.
If you are short on the money or you just want to be thrifty and spend less whenever you can, you can try using cloth diapers instead.
Aside from that, you should also stock up on baby wipes as well since they are needed to clean your baby’s bottom whenever they poop or piss themselves.

Baby Carrier

As much as you want to carry your baby in your arms for a long time, it is just not possible without your arms tiring out on you. That is why a baby carrier is a godsend.
This allows you to put your baby either in front of your or at the back; freeing your hands in the process. Then, you can do all of the things that you need to do while still carrying your baby with you.
There are different types of carriers out there and I recommend that you try one out before purchasing.

Car Seat

Another must-have, a baby car seat is definitely needed if you have a car. In fact, there are some countries and states that prohibit the transportation of the baby if the vehicle doesn’t have a car seat dedicated to them.

Crib

Your baby needs a bed to sleep and the crib is the perfect environment for that. There are many different configurations out there so choose one that you think would be ideal for your baby, as well as your budget.
