Your Newborn Baby Essentials Buyer’s Guide

Knowing that your baby is going to arrive in a couple of weeks makes a lot of future parents excited. And, because you want them to experience the best things in life, you need to secure some stuff that they will need down the line.

This includes baby milk bottles, layettes, car seat, stroller, and many other baby essentials. And, to help you with your purchase decisions, I am going to create a brief guide on essential baby items that you need to get before your newborn comes.

Car Seat

This is one of the most essential things that you can buy for your baby. True enough, some countries and states around the world would require every parent who travels by car to have a car seat for their baby.

That being said, there are so many things that you need to consider out there, but you have me, and all I am ever going to do is provide you with the necessary information about car seats and which ones you should get.

Now, this will depend on whether you want to save money or you want what’s best for your baby. If you do not mind the costs, you should get a car seat that is for group 0+ which can effectively last from newborn up to 1 year.

If you want to save some money and you want a car seat that will last longer, then you should get one for group 0+/1 which should last you for about 4 years or so.

Always remember that all of the car seats for new infants should be rear-facing and should be able to carry a baby even if you put them in a horizontal orientation.

Feeding Essentials

Of course, you have to feed your baby to help them grow as strong and mighty as possible. That being said, your aim is to provide them with a comfortable experience when doing so.

If you are going to breastfeed your baby, you want to get some nursing bras and some nipple shields to go along with it. It also helps if you buy an appropriate cream to help protect your own skin (because babies can nibble a lot).

For baby milk bottles, there are so many out there and the only advice I can give you would be to let your baby try all sorts of configurations until you find one that they like. You also need to buy a bottle sterilizer and some teats as well.

Because babies can get really messy at times, you need to have plenty of different clothing to suit different occasions.

You want to buy several sleepsuits, onesies, several pairs of socks, a couple of blankets (regular and swaddle type), a cap or hat, sweater, and a pair of scratch mitts if you want.

Of course, you want to offer your newborn some protection at all times. You should ensure that they have playpens, stair gates, baby monitors, fireguards, window and cupboard catches, and always plug your socket covers so that their tiny fingers won’t get through.
